Sania Mirza-Shoaib Malik Marriage Confirmed
Indian Tennis Star Sania Mirza is all set to marry Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Just 2 months after Sania called off her marriage with her childhood friend Sohrab Mirza, This has been confirmed not only by Sania’s parents but also by the young couple.
The decision of Sania Mirza to get marry with Shoaib Malik has perplexed people in her hometown and definitely triggered a debate on her move in view of the controversy involving the Pakistani cricketer who is accused of cheating a girl.
Ayesha Siddiqui, who claims to be Shoaib Malik’s first wife has thrown a bouncer.
Ayesha’s father, Mohammed Ahmed Siddiqui has threatened to sue Shoaib if he does not divorce his daughter. “I want divorce for my daughter. According to Islamic law, my daughter cannot remarry if she doesn’t have the divorce paper,” he said in an interview to an Indian news channel. He also said that Sania Mirza will be Shoaib’s second wife.
Malik wrote on Twitter on 29th March, Monday night, “Thanks for all your support. And the news of me marrying to Sania is true. Inshallah will get married in April”.
“I fully understand what it takes to be an international sports person and I will support Sania in her career as long as she wishes to play.
“Representing India at the 2012 Olympics is very important for her and I will be the proudest husband if she can win a medal for her country,” he added.
Sania said, “My wedding inshallah is going to be the biggest day of my life. I have been in the constant glare for too long and would appreciate privacy at this very personal moment in my life. I hope to be fully fit to represent India in the Commonwealth and Asian Games that are scheduled for later this year.”
Pakistan Cricket Board chief Ijaz Butt said “Sania-Shoaib marriage will help improve Indo-Pak ties”, but Indian tennis star Sania Mirza has clarified that she is not making any political statement by marrying cricketer Shoaib Malik.
“While the decision by Shoaib and Sania is a personal one to get married, but I am sure it will have far-reaching effects and help improve relations between the two countries,” The News quoted Butt, as saying.
Several Pakistani sports personalities, including Imran Khan and Inzamam-ul-Haq, have wished the sports couple `good luck’ for a happy married life.
“My best wishes to Shoaib and Sania and I pray both of you live a blessed life,” Imran said on a popular television show.
Other players, including Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Misbah-ul-Haq and Kamran Akmal also expressed joy over the engagement news and wishes the couple a great future.
Afridi said “I am happy for Shoaib and hope he lives a happy life. Sania is not only a good tennis player but a great person too and I am happy for both of them.”
Kamran, one of Shoaib’s closest friends, said he was not surprised by the announcement and was looking forward for the Valima (reception) in Lahore next month. “You can be sure the Lahorites will celebrate this occasion with great fanfare. It is a really good pairing,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Aussie ‘keeper and IPL team Deccan Chargers’ skipper Adam Gilchrist also congratulated Sania on the big day.

Google India today announced an agreement with the Indian Premier League and its licensing partner Global Cricket Ventures that will enable it to stream all the action from latest season on a dedicated IPL channel on YouTube at www.youtube.com/ipl with a five minute delay across the world, except in the USA, which will have re-broadcast options as the TV rights have been sold to tv channel.
This will be the first such deal in the cricket world, though in 2008 the International Olympic Committee had hosted highlights of the Beijing Games in countries that didn’t receive any telecast.

Sachin Tendulkar Hits First One Day International Double Century
Sachin Tendulkar scores 200 runs in the history of one day international against south africa which is highest total by any individual.
Sachin Tendulkar is now the Highest Run Scorer in a One Day International. He is the first cricketer in world to achieve this milestone.
He has beated the record of Pakistan’s Saeed Anwar (194 against India in 1997) & Charles Coventry (194 not out against Bangladesh in 1999) who scored 194 runs. He made record in 2nd One Day International Day-Night match of India vs South Africa series playing at Captain Roop Singh Stadium Gwalior for which we have waited for more than a decade.
He is the highest run scorer and century maker in Test and One Day International cricket.
