Unit - I

Tissue culture media: Composition & preparation, maintenance of callus, suspensions, culture, single cell clones, somaclonal variations.

Unit - II

Embryo culture, protoplast isolation and fusion, selection of hybrid cells, hybrid anther, pollen & ovary cultures for production of haploid plants & homozygous lines. Cryopreservation. Transgenic plants.

Unit - III

Primary and established cell line and Cultures of animals cells. Brief account of chemical, physical and metabolic functions of different constituents of culture medium.

Unit - IV

Biology and charactrization of cultured cells, viability and cytotoxicity. Basic techniques of mammalian cell culture, Mass Culture Technique.

Unit - V

Cell cloning & micromanipulation cell synchronisation & transformation stem cell culture. Somatic cell genetic organ culture.
