Paypal Continues To Stop Personal Payment To & From India
PayPal, part of eBay Inc stops personal payments to and from India, as well as transfers to local banks in India.
Spokesman Anuj Nayar wrote that the company will keep blocking personal payments to and from India as it works out questions that Indian regulators have posed. The payments were initially suspended Jan 28, after regulators questioned whether PayPal payments should be regulated like wire transfers of cash.
As Nayar said, Local Bank Withdrawl which is also suspended, will be available within few days.
The software professionals in the country are concerned over RBI’s decision to suspend Paypal’s services in India. Interruption of PayPal’s services is bound to cause some inconvenience to customers in India, as many rely on it to receive funds from abroad, but they feel the issue would soon be sorted out.
