Microsoft launched the Visual Studio 2010 and .Net Framework 4 in India & Company also announced that Silverlight 4 will release to Web later in the week.

Built-in support for ASP.NET Model-View-Controller gives developers the flexibility to separately update the appearance and core business logic of Web applications. Windows® Phone 7 developers will be able to build amazing mobile applications using Visual Studio with integrated phone design surfaces.

Silverlight 4 creates a whole new way to deliver compelling applications that run inside and outside the browser. Silverlight 4 offers powerful media and business application capabilities that enable developers to deliver compelling application experiences on or off the Web. Silverlight 4 include extended out-of-browser capabilities, enhancements for enterprise application developers, and more than 60 customizable pre-written controls to quickly build rich, interactive applications.

One common problem I have seen that sometimes folder option missing in the explorer window.

Try these to restore folder option

Solution 1:

• Go to Run, type “regedit” & press enter.

• Go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

• At right side, look for a value “NoFolderOptions”. Right click on it & choose “Delete”

• Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

• Repeat Step 3

Solution 2:

• Go to Run, type “gpedit.msc” & press enter.

• Go to User Configuration => Administrative Templates => Windows Components => Windows Explorer

• At the right side, look for “Removes the Folder Options menu item from the Tools menu”, right click on it & choose “Properties”

• Change the setting from “Enabled” to “Not Configured” or “Disabled”

If Windows is taking its time to start up or shut down, there might be a problem.
To find out what’s going on

1. Go to “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System”
2. Create a DWORD value called ‘verbosestatus’ and set it to 1.
3. Restart your PC

Most installations default to the Program Files folder, but if you want to change this

• Go to “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion”
• Change the ‘ProgramFilesDir’ entry to point at your chosen folder
• Restart PC.
