Twitter Revamps Homepage For New Users
Twitter, micro blogging social messaging service site has revamped homepage to make it interesting with lots of information by including a constantly updated section of the “Top Tweets” and a show case of celebrities and public figures linked to the twitter website.
Users will now see a live ticker on top, suggested users on the left and a live top tweet stream in the middle.
Twitters official blog says “With the new design, we’re intentionally featuring more dynamic content on the front page, revealing a sample of who’s here, what folks are tweeting about, and the big topics that they’re discussing. The homepage now features a set of algorithmically-selected top tweets that automatically appear every few seconds. It also highlights a random sampling of suggested sources; hover over any of them to see a profile summary and their latest tweet. Trending topics now scroll across the page, allowing us to present a large set of trends using little page real estate. Hovering over some of these trends will show a description explaining why the keyword is (or has recently been) popular.”
Twitter will need these qualities to keep its users engaged with its own web site.
Google Buzz, A New Social Networking And Messaging Tool From Google
Google released another new service called Google Buzz, a social networking and messaging tool designed to integrate into the Gmail .It’s like a social networking and messaging extension of Gmail.Users can share links, photos, videos, status messages and comments.
If you are already a Gmail user then Buzz have already magically appeared on your account. It adds a Buzz link and icon in with the rest of your Gmail navigation. Within Buzz you can post comments to private groups or publicly, follow people, comment on other people’s posts, email posts, share images and videos, and do some other general social networking stuff. You are free to share whatever you wish to share and many other features.
Google Buzz also allow you to import content from all the existing websites that you are using, like Picassa, Twitter and Flickr. This feature provide you full flexibility to use Google Buzz
